Welcome to my site. Thanks for stopping by. I am an artist who paints landscapes in a semi abstracted way. My focus and challenge in painting is to try to create pieces that are representational enough but there are gaps that the viewer has to fill in the blanks to make sense of it. My hope is that you weave your own narrative and experiences to each piece and it will create another story. For me I am recounting my story. Each painting for me is a recollection of a moment in nature where I had to stop and take in the beauty and serenity of the moment because it was so profound to me. I want to relieve this moment and understand what was so important. When I paint, It becomes a dialogue, adding and taking away until I feel my story is told. I love how nature is restorative and that along with my art practice is incredibly grounding and fulfilling to me.
You may recognize some places from across Canada. Some of the places that have spoken to me deeply are Lake Superior, the old growth forests out west, and Georgian Bay and the ocean and deserted beaches out East.
I have recently expanded my practice to include some courses. I want to share any knowledge I have about doing art or the healing restorative powers of art.
I appreciate your input and interest.
